Comforting Little Ones – Hygge Baby Kit Giveaway

Hygge Baby Kit Giveaway with Infacol

The toughest time for parents can be when their children are poorly, injured or just plain inconsolable. Both my children suffered with colic and reflux but Littlest had a particularly tough time. She was born screaming and did not really stop for nearly a full year. Every afternoon, at around 2 pm, it would start.

And it would not stop until she finally fell asleep for a few hours, exhausted, at anywhere between 10 pm and 1 am.

It was one of the hardest times in my life. There was no letup, no relief and, as well as the physical and emotional demands of taking care of an inconsolable baby, I had the demands of a toddler who was freshly diagnosed with autism.

I must admit, I was not very good at taking care of myself at that time – one of the darkest in my life. I could definitely used some moments of home comfort. The Hygge Baby kit giveaway with Infacol, stems from the idea that hygge could reduce the stress of parenting, especially during those difficult times. Hygge is defined as a quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being, and is regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture.

The Hygge Baby kit includes:
The Danish Way of Parenting: What The Happiest People in the World Know About Raising Confident, Capable Kids by Jessica Alexander and Iben Sandahl.
  • Denmark has been voted as one of the happiest countries in the world for over 40 years in a row. Countless articles and studies have been devoted to discovering the reasons why. But the results are always unclear.
  • In this groundbreaking book, respected Danish psychotherapist and American author Sandahl and Alexander claim to have uncovered the real secret of the Danes´ happiness. And it is, quite simply, in their upbringing. Danish parents raise happy children who grow up to be happy adults who raise happy children and the cycle repeats itself.
  • Sandahl and Alexander ask the reader to remove their “cultural glasses” for a moment and try on a “Danish way” of seeing things and then take a look at the world around them. Can anyone improve their well-being and cultivate the happiest children in the world in their own backyard? The answer is yes!
