Recycled ‘We Love Our Planet’ Valentine’s Wreath Craft

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, and Earth Day following not long after, I have teamed up with Lyreco to bring you this ‘We Love Our Planet’ Valentine’s Wreath Craft. This craft is made from recycled items you may have around the house.

It makes a fun activity to try at home or as part of a class project and it is a great opportunity to talk about sustainability with children. For a larger group of children, you could create a large globe and get each child to make their own flower. You could also include messages on each flower for each child to explain something they love about Planet Earth.

Recycled ‘We Love Our Planet’ Valentine’s Wreath – Video Tutorial

You will need:

  • 10-15 Plastic bottles with 5 point bottoms in various sizes
  • Old magazines
  • Permanent markers in pink, red, and purple
  • Coloured Paper
  • Plastic sheet/laminator pouch or other plastic
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Ruler
  • A candle or tea light and a lighter/matches

Soft drink bottles are the best type to collect, as they have the flower-shaped bottoms and they come in various sizes.
