All I Want For Christmas with Boots

Close up of Boots Beauty christmas gifts with wrapping paper and fairy lights This post is an advertisement feature with Boots UK but all thoughts are my own

Have you started your Christmas shopping? I must admit, I’m usually a last-minute kind of a girl, buying most of my presents in the second half of December. This year, however, I am a little more organised, thanks to Boots. They invited me to be part of their ‘All I Want For Christmas’ campaign, which focuses on understanding what people really love during the festive season. In the build-up to Christmas, Boots has asked its key audiences a few key questions about Christmas, in order to lift the lid on what really makes people tick during the festive period…

As well as getting to choose some gifts from Boots’ amazing gift selection, I also get to giveaway a gorgeous Soap & Glory Advent Calendar (worth £42) to one reader. Check out the Rafflecopter below to be in with a chance of winning.

Boots Christmas Gifting Survey

So what did Boots find out in their festive survey? They had over 11,000 respondents and I was pretty surprised to find out that a quarter of Brits start their shopping in August! Those people are far more organised than I will ever be. However, like 65% of pet owners, I definitely buy a present for our dog, Willow. I also agree with one-third of people who thought that they are difficult to buy for!

When it comes to the gift that requires the most thought, I buck the trend a little. 35% of people in the survey said that it was their partner’s gift that required the most thought. As my son is autistic, he can be very tricky to buy for. He does not always play with the kind of toys that other children his age may enjoy and he can become easily distressed if a present is unexpected or different. Therefore I always spent the most time considering the perfect gift for him. When it comes to getting presents for my husband, he always requests the same thing at this time of year – tickets to see the latest Star Wars Film and funds for a Golfing Weekend!

I was also really interested to learn that 59% of people consider sustainability when buying Christmas gifts. This has been on my mind this year too and we have decided to use brown paper for wrapping, as it is more environmentally friendly.

Other question results revealed that 63% of 25 – 34 year-olds create a wishlist for friends and relatives to buy from. In addition, the internet and social media came top for what inspires our gift-buying, with 44% of 18-24 year-olds saying that social media guides their choices.

The Boots Gift Range

As well as looking at Boots Christmas findings, I was also able to pick three gifts from the amazing range of presents available at Boots. Boots has always featured heavily in my Christmas shopping. Not only do they have a great selection of gifts for all ages and interests and price ranges, but they also have great 1/2 price 3-for-2 deals.

Boots have some great Christmas Gifts for Him and I was able to choose something for a man in my life – my husband.

I also choose some lovely items from the Christmas Gifts for Her section -something for my sister and a gift for me (yay!).

For Matt, my husband, I chose this Origins Guys Greats – Grooming Essentials For Me set.

The set includes four face care essentials—shave cream, treatment lotion, face wash & moisturizer. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to pamper him a little.

For my sister, I chose this LACOSTE Lacoste Touch of Pink 30ml Gift Set. At £29 this is such a bargain, as you get the  Eau de Toilette 30ml and the Body Lotion 100ml.

Finally, I was able to indulge in that very rare treat – picking a gift for myself. I chose the Best of Beauty Essential Eye Kit, as it contains so many goodies – No7 The Full 360 All-round Incredible Lashes, Sleek MakeUP Dip It Eyeliner AND the Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl™ Waterproof Eyeliner. It really is an incredible value and I cannot wait to try them all. I always used to love eye make-up when I was younger, but I have got out of the habit of applying it lately. Hopefully, this gorgeous gift will inspire me again.

Just like the popular poll answer, I cannot wait to see the look on my husband and sister’s faces when they open their gifts.

  1. Bread sauce – giving taste and variety to everything it’s poured over on the Christmas dinner plate, it adds that je ne sais quoi to the whole occasion!

  2. Pigs in blankets definitely – a family favourite, but really it’s the whole meal and sharing it together that makes it so special.

  3. Although I am a vegetarian Hubby & sons only eat Turkey when it’s with Christmas Dinner. So he reckons int’s the most important. Me, I can’t do without roast potatoes.

  4. Christmas dinner wouldn’t be the same without Turkey, Stuffing and Pigs in Blankets!
Amazing Prize! I have always wanted to countdown to Christmas with Soap & Glory, this is fab xx

  5. I think it’s probably the turkey although it wouldn’t be Christmas without the roasties and pigs in blankets as well

  6. As I’m both vegetarian and coeliac, it’s important to me that all of the trimmings for my Christmas lunch are gluten free and veggie. So to me, the most important part of Christmas dinner is the gluten free, vegetarian, gravy. It covers all the rest of my dinner so it’s vital!
